The chernobyl ant is believed to orginate form the USA where it was a cut throat trout fly. Since then it has grown to become a widely used dry fly for destination fishing all over the globe and a number of anglers are catching trout with it within the UK as well. it is an effective fly for rainbows, browns, sea trout, steelhead, salmon, grayling, and sea run char and will take many more different species, I have found it effective for chub. It is a particular favourite fly for anglers heading to chile and russia.
