Montana nymphs are one of the most effective all round nymph flies in the world. Originating in Montana. as a stonefly nymph imitation, it is leathal and devoured by trout all over the world regardless of whether the venue has stonefly nymphs or not. As such it is a must have pattern and particularly effective in UK stillwaters/reservoirs during the colder months. This pattern has a goldhead bead incorporated within it's tying giving added weight and a subtle added attraction to the fly. These patterns can be fished with varying retrieves on all lines.
