The weighted nymph version of this famous pattern which is good for faster runs, fishing for deeper feeding fish and stalking individual fish. Montana nymphs are one of the most effective all round nymph flies in the world. Originating in Montana. as a stonefly nymph imitation, it is leathal and devoured by trout all over the world regardless of whether the venue has stonefly nymphs or not. As such it is a must have pattern and particularly effective in UK stillwaters/reservoirs during the colder months.
